Transmission system

Q1. What are the main components of Transmission system ? (ट्रांसमिशन सिस्टम के मुख्य भाग क्या हैं ?)

Ans. Transmission system has mainly three components :-

(i)Clutch assembly  (ii) Gearbox assembly   (iii) Propeller shaft assembly

ट्रांसमिशन सिस्टम के मुख्य रूप तौर से तीन भाग होते है :-                                          (i) क्लच असेंबली (ii) गियर बॉक्स असेंबली (iii) प्रोपेलर शाफ़्ट असेंबली

Q2. What is the function of clutch assembly ? What are main types of clutches ? ( क्लच असेंबली का क्या कार्य है ? क्लच के मुख्य प्रकार क्या हैं ?)

Ans. Clutch assembly is used to engage and disengage engine power to road wheels.

Types of clutch :- (i) Single plate clutch                                                                                                (ii) Multi plate clutch                                                                                                                                       (iii) Cone clutch                                                                                                                            (iv) Centrifugal clutch     ( सेन्ट्रीफ्यूगल क्लच )                                                                                                     (v) Semi centrifugal clutch ( सेमी सेन्ट्रीफ्यूगल क्लच )                                                                  (vi) Diaphragm clutch   ( डायाफ्राम क्लच )                                                                              (vii) Vaccum clutch  (वैक्युम क्लच)                                                                                                          (viii) Hydraulic clutch      ( हाइड्रोलिक क्लच )                                                                                                                       (ix) Over running clutch ( ओवर रनिंग क्लच )

Q3. What is the need of gear box ?

Ans. (i) Auto vehicle has to work at different speed on different contacts of tyre roads, their level and slopped road                                                                                                                 (ii) It vehicle has to bear idling and quick acceleration due to different requirements of roads and resistance according to habits of driver for all this purposes, gear box is required.

Q4. What are the resistances by a vechicle ?

Ans. (i) Rolling resistance ( रोलिंग प्रतिरोध)                                                                                         (ii) Gradient resistance ( ग्रेडिएन्ट प्रतिरोध)                                                                  (iii) Air resistance ( हवा का प्रतिरोध )                                                                                                                                (iv) Resistance due to driving requirements

Q5. What are the types if trasmission ? (ट्रांसमिशन के प्रकार क्या हैं ?)

Ans. (i) Manual transmission   ( मैन्युअल ट्रांसमिशन)                                                                          (ii) Semi-automatic transmission ( सेमी आटोमेटिक ट्रांसमिशन)                                                             (iii) Automatic transmission ( आटोमेटिक ट्रांसमिशन)

Q6. What is propeller shaft ?

Ans. Propeller shaft is used to transmit rotary motion of transmission main shaft to differential in rear wheel drive.

Q7. What is universal joint ? Where it is fitted ?

Ans. Universal joint are used for joining two shafts to transmit torque at some angle.

·        This joint is fitted between gear box and differential

Q8. What are the types of universal joints ?

Ans. (i) Cross type                                                                                                                                  (ii)  constant velocity                                                                                                                              (iii) Rubber coupling                                                                                                                                  (iv) Pot type joint                                                                                                                                      (v) Lay rub type joint
