Q.1. What is the function of final drive ? (फाइनल ड्राइव का क्या कार्य है ?)

Ans. Function of final drive is to provide permanent speed reduction and also to turn drive around 90degree. This speed reduction is 4:1 in cars and 10:1 in heavy vehicles.(फाइनल ड्राइव का कार्य स्थायी रूप से गति का घटाव उपलब्ध करना और ड्राइव को 90डिग्री पर भी मोड़ना है। यह गति घटाव कारों में 4:1 होता है और भरी वाहनों में 10:1 होता है ।)

Q.2. Tell about the names of gears used for final drive gearing(फाइनल ड्राइव गियरिंग के लिए प्रयोग होने वाले गियरो के नाम बताओ। )

Ans. (i) Straight bevel gears (ii) Spiral bevel gears (iii) Hypoid gears

(i)Straight bevel gear :- It has straight teeth it is very simple and cheapest                                          (ii) Spiral bevel gear :- It has curved teeth which result in greater contact of the teeth, So the spiral gears are silent in running and stronger than the straight bevel gear.                                                   (iii) Hypoid gear :- Hypoid gears are widely used for final drive these days in this gears, pinion shaft is placed below the axis of crown wheel. These are comparatively expansive

(i)               सीधा बेवल गियर :- इनके सीधे दाँत होते हैं इसलिए यह सबसे साधारण है और इनकी लागत भी कम होती है ।

(ii)              कुंडलीदार बेवल गियर :- इनके दाँत मुड़े होते है जिससे दाँतो में संपर्क अधिक होता है, इस संपर्क के कारण इन गियरो में मजबूती अधिक होता है और शांत चलते हैं ।

(iii)            हापॉइड गियर :- इन दिनों फाइनल ड्राइव के लिए ये गियर प्रयोग किए जा रहे हैं, इस गियर में पिनियन शाफ़्ट, क्राउन व्हील के अक्ष के निचे होती है । ये अन्य गियर की तुलना में महेंगे हैं ।
