 Q.1. What are hand tools? Give some examples.

(हैंड टूल(हस्त औजार) क्या हैं ? कुछ उदाहरण दो।)

Ans. Hand tools are such tools or equipment which are used by hand to work on any metal and servicing of two wheeler or four wheeler.

(हस्त औजार ऐसे औजार हैं जिनका प्रयोग किसी धातु पर हाथ से कार्य करने के लिए और दो पहिया एवं चार पहिया वाहन की सर्विसिंग के लिए किया जाता है।)

 Q.2. What is spanner? Tell about its types.(स्पैनर क्या है? इसके प्रकार बताएं।)

Ans. Spanner are hand tools which are used to tighten or loosen nut-bolts.

Major Types

a. Open end spanner

b. Ring Spanner

c. Combination Spanner

d. Box Spanner

Open End Spanner:- These types of spanners are open at both ends. They are used where there is requirement of low torque for tightening and loosening of nut bolt.

Ring Spanner:- These spanners are closed at both ends in ring shape. Hence they are called ring spanner. They are used where there chances of slipping of open end spanner.

Combination Spanner:- These spanners are closed at one side and open at other side.

Box Spanner:- These are used for tightening of wheel drum. Sometimes they are also called wheel spanners. They are also used where there is no space for ring spanner or there are chances of slipping of ring spanner.

स्पैनर एक ऐसे हस्त औजार हैं जिनका प्रयोग नट-बोल्ट को कसने के लिए एवं खोलने के लिए करते हैं। 

मुख्य प्रकार 

• ओपन एंड स्पैनर 
• रिंग स्पैनर 
• कॉमबीनेशन स्पैनर 
• बॉक्स स्पैनर 

ओपन एंड स्पैनर :- इस प्रकार के स्पैनर दोनों सिरों से खुले होते हैं। इनका प्रयोग वहाँ पर किया जाता है जहां नट-बोल्ट को खोलने एवं कसने के लिए किया जाता है। 

रिंग स्पैनर :- ये स्पैनर दोनों सिरों से छल्ले के आकार में बंद होते हैं। इसीलिए इन्हें रिंग स्पैनर कहा जाता है। इनका प्रयोग वहाँ पर किया जाता है जहां पर ओपन एंड स्पैनर के स्लिप होने का खतरा हो। 

कॉमबीनेशन स्पैनर:- ये स्पैनर एक तरफ से बंद होते हैं और दूसरी तरफ से खुले होते हैं। 

बॉक्स स्पैनर :- इनका प्रयोग व्हील ड्रम को कसने के लिए करते हैं, इसीलिए इन्हें व्हील स्पैनर भी कहा जाता है। इन्हें वहाँ पर भी प्रयोग करते हैं जहां पर रिंग स्पैनर के लिए स्थान न हो या रिंग स्पैनर के स्लिप होने की संभावना हो। 

 Q.3. Tell about files, pliers, bench vice and chisel. (रेती,  प्लास, बेंच वाईस एवं छैणी के बारे में बताएं।)

Ans.  Files():- It is a hand tool which is used for removing metal like removing of sharp edges, smoothening of surfaces and shaping of jobs etc.\

Plier():- Plier is used to hold small objects and for tightening and loosening of components at their place. Pliers are of many types like side cutting plier, combination plier etc.

Bench Vice(बेंच  वाईस):-    It is used to hold job for doing cutting, fitting, chipping, threading and bending etc. work on it. This vice contain one body and two jaws in which one is fixed and other is movable.

Hand Hacksaw():- It is used for cutting of metal which consists of steel sections like rods, angle, iron channel section, sheet pipe etc. It is also used for repairing of bolt head and nut if they are jammed and not be able to open with wrench or spanner. It is a simple tool which consists of handle, frame, blade and adjusting wing nut.

Chisel:- Chisel is hand tool which is used for cutting, sharing and chimping. Most often used chisels consists of flat, cross cut, round nose and diamond point etc.

(छैणी एक ऐसा हस्त औजार है जिसका प्रयोग काटने,    के लिए करते हैं। अधिकतर प्रयोग होने वाली छैणी में चपटी, आर-पार कट, गोलाकार नाक एवं हीरे बिन्दु वाली छैणी आदि आते हैं।

प्लायर : - प्लायर का प्रयोग छोटी वस्तुओं को पकड़ने के लिए और भागों को उनके स्थान से ढीला करने के लिए किया जाता है। प्लायर कई प्रकार के होते हैं जैसे कि साइड कटिंग प्लायर, कॉमबीनेशन प्लायर आदि। 

बेंच वाईस :- 

हैन्ड हैक-सा:-इसका प्रयोग  धातु को काटने के लिए जिसमें स्टील के सेक्शन जैसे कि रोड,

 Q.4. Tell about screw driver and wrenches. ()

Ans. Screw Driver():- These are tools which are used by automobile mechanic for fitting of screw and tightening or loosening them. There are many types of screws used in automobiles such as

Wrench:- These are hand tools which are used for loosening and tightening of nut bolts. Its main function is to hold slipped bolt or nut so that we can easily tight or loose it. These are mainly of two types - adjustable and non- adjustable.

 Q.5. Tell about hammer, snip and mallet. (हथौड़े, स्निप और मैलेट के बारे में बताएं।)

Ans. Hammer:- It is generally used hand tool which is used to straight section, riveting, striking the nails, fitting of components by striking and fitting key ways.

Snips:- It is also called shear. It is used for cutting sheet metal in required size. Major components of snip consists of cutting blade. These blades are hard and ground to sharp edge.

Mallet:- Mallet is also type of hammer which is generally made of rubber or wood. It is used where there is need of low pressure hammer. These are specially used for shaping sheet metal and they do not leave marks on sheet metal.

 Q.6. Tell about grease gun, grinding machine and drill bit. ()

Ans. Grease Gun :- Grease gun is common workshop and garage tool which is used for lubrication. Purpose of grease gun is to apply lubricant through an aperture to a specific point.

(ग्रीस गन एक सामान्य वर्कशॉप और गैरेज औजार है जिसका प्रयोग लुब्रीकेशन के लिए किया जाता है। ग्रीस गन का उद्देश्य किसी विशेष बिन्दु पर छेद के द्वारा लुब्रीकेंट पहुंचाना है।)

Grinding Machine:- It is also called grinder. It is a type of machining using an abrasive wheel as the cutting tool. It is used to remove surface roughness.

Drill Bit:- Drill Bits are cutting tools used to create cylindrical holes. Bits are fixed in a tool called drill. Drill rotates bit and provides axial force and torque. Special bits are also used for creating non-cylindrical holes.

 Q.7. Tell about punch, wheel wrenches and tool box. (पंच, व्हील रेंच और टूल बॉक्स के बारे में बताओ।)

Ans. Punch :- Punch is a rod of hard metal. It has sharped tip at one end and a blunt butt end at the other. It is usually stuck by a hammer. Punch is used to drive objects such as nails or to form an impression of the tip on work piece.

पंच : - पंच एक सख्त धातु की रोड होता  है। यह एक सिरे से तीखी और एक सिरे से           होता  है। इसे आम तौर पर हथौड़े द्वारा          किया जाता है। पंच का प्रयोग वस्तुओं जैसे कि कीलों को ड्राइव करने के लिए या टिप की छाप कार्य के टुकड़े पर छोड़ने के लिए किया जाता है। 

Wheel Wrench:- Wheel Wrench is designed for opening and fitting wheels of vehicle.

Tool Box:- It is used for storing tools. There are different compartments for keeping tools systematically.

 Q.8. How maintenance of general tools is done.()

Ans. 1. Tools should be kept at proper place after use.

2. Worn out tools should be replaced with new tools.

3. Correct procedure should be used for holding any tools.

4. Proper dress should be worn by trainees during workshop practical.
